The Ultimate Gift of Life will be hosting their 1st Annual Organ Donation Awareness Walk-a–thon.
It will be held Saturday, May 20th at White Mountain Park in Ruidoso, NM. We invite you and your family to come out and walk to raise awareness about organ donation any time between the hours of 9am and 1pm.
With your registration, you will receive an Ultimate Gift of Life T-shirt when you arrive at the event as well as bottled water and a light snack. We encourage registrants to ask their friends and co-workers to sponsor them as they walk. You can walk ½ a mile or more. The sponsor form can be printed out upon registration. By registering on line before the event, you will save $5.00 off the registration fee. You may also register the day of the event.
Organ donation impacts people’s lives in many ways.
So at the event, we will have a special booth to remember those who made the decision to be an organ donor and who saved and improved other people’s lives. You can visit with their families to learn more about organ donation. You will also be able to meet a heart recipient and a kidney transplant candidate.
And as always, you could register to be an organ donor if you have not already done so. Carrizo Canyon Catering will be on site for you to purchase a picnic lunch. They feature salads, sandwiches, baked goods and water. So even if you don’t walk, it will be a great day to get out and enjoy the fresh mountain air and NM sunshine at the park.
Proceeds will go to help The Ultimate Gift of Life Foundation continue to work to raise awareness about organ donation and to increase the number of registered organ donors. Funds will be matched by friends of The Ultimate Gift of Life Foundation.
