The 2016 Joe Mancillas Trees of Hope Festival is scheduled for Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 6pm to 9pm. It will be held at the Community Center rooms located in the Michael Nivison Library at 90 Swallow PL in Cloudcroft, NM.
This will be our 2nd annual event. Last year’s event was a fun, festive, and successful event. The communities of Alamogordo and Cloudcroft were very supportive with donations and with their participation of the event. People form out of state also contributed by sponsoring the event.
The Ultimate Gift of Life is a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation whose mission is to raise awareness about organ donation and to increase the number of registered organ donors. The festival is named in memory and in honor of Joe Mancillas. Joe was a native to Cloudcroft and was known and loved by many. He owned and operated Cloudcroft Wrecker Service and Joe’s Tree Cutting Service. In 2005, Joe was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure. He was on dialysis for 4 years while waiting on the transplant waiting list. Sadly, Joe died in an accident before he could get a kidney transplant.
Approximately 22 people die each day while waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. It is our goal to register more donors, to help decrease the waiting time for a transplant and help save more lives.
We hope that you will mark your calendar and attend the event. It is a great place to start your holiday shopping. There will be beautifully decorated Christmas Trees, wreaths and other nice gift items. This year, we will have a bucket raffle, silent auction and live auction.
Other ways to participate include donating a decorated tree, wreath or other gift item. You many also be a sponsor of the event.
Diamond sponsor=$1,000., Ruby Sponsor= $500., Emerald Sponsor= $250., Amethyst Sponsor= $100.00.
